HOME!

After a fantastic month long vacation we are home. The cat has reclaimed her spot on top of the couch and the birds will soon fly to their spot as well. Driving from Washington to Idaho, through Utah and all over Colorado was great, much prettier than I ever imagined, I am someone who previously didn't think much of desert vistas and wheat fields. We visited family, both Seth's Grandparents, parents, sister and my mom, aunts and brother.

Last night after briefly checking in with the house we headed out to Dad's house to hunt up the cat, after 45 minutes of unsuccessful jungle searching we headed to dinner with Dad at Tap Root (really impressive). With full bellies we resumed the search for the Spycat in the thick brush behind Dad's house. Spy would meow but not come for about an hour and 1/2. Seth crawled on all fours through wet brush, I balanced on logs, finally when we both sat still she showed herself and than gamely pranced over to me and laid on my lap, like she hadn't been feral for a month. I've cut out most the mats, brushed her out and besides being very, very needy, following me around the house and sleeping on top of Seth like a piece of furniture she is back to normal. As a memento for Dad she left half a mouse on his porch, what a treat she was to watch.

Now to a rainy cool Thursday morning involving lots of coffee and re-nesting into our little house. It feels very lush here in Anchorage after driving through much steppe desert, can't even see through our front window because the hops vines have taken a stronghold on the front of the house.
