A dog is too much responsibility

Yesterday I volunteered to wash dad's dog Ginger and keep her overnight. Dad said she was dirty, I thought that just meant she looked the way she always looks....... wrong. I picker her up and couldn't stop laughing, she must have spent all day outside underneath the birch trees, the aphids have been going crazy in this warm weather and drop a sticky kind of juice on the ground, Gingy was covered in it, she looked like she rolled in oil. I took her home and tried to wash her, note to self, cow dogs don't like water. Once she was covered in dish soap she wandered away to roll in the dust, I had to pick her up and carry her back. Now that she is clean she lays on the rug and wines until I pay attention to her, even though she wines and is high strung but she is really my favorite dog ever. The pictures of the river are from our run, Seth takes the Ship Creek trail almost every night, really beautiful. Lots of people down at Ship Creek for the salmon derby but up the trail a bit you would hardly know you are in the downtown of a large city. Most days kids float down the river and than run back up the bike trail, it was empty the night I took this picture, it was about dinner time.
